Thank you for the graphic. I used it to make an embroidered hot pad for a hostess gift to illustrate a quote about friendship by Samuel T. Coleridge. This was not a commercial endeavor but a gift of friendship.

    Dear Vyoma,

I am asking for permission to use this gorgeous tree illustration as part of our business logo. We are in process of establishing a business that addresses the needs of deaf and hard of hearing individuals. We have been looking for just the right tree clip-art and feel that your illustration best suits our image.

Please e-mail me to discuss this matter further. I appreciate your time.

    Sincerely,

    Katie Murch

You are welcome to use it as long as an attribution (link) is provided back, Katie.

If it is branding options (like logo) you are looking at – I would advice you to invest in an unique artwork as logo.

I just sent you the details through mail.

    Thanks for dropping by!

I saw the wonderful project that June made with your clipart and knew it was perfect for a project that I am thinking of. I am not sure yet whether this will just be for personal use or for commercial (I’ve not ventured into the commercial realm yet). I’d be honored if you would kindly give me permission to use your beautiful design.

Cheryl, you have my permission to use this for any personal projects – for commercial ones, all you need to do is provide an attribution to KalaaLog.com.

As I mentioned to others, avoid use of it as a logo for a business, as I have not given up copyrights on this artwork.

    Thank you. :)

    Hello!

I was wondering whether I could have permission to use this lovely tree graphic as a watermark for the “1 Thing for Green” initiative? We’re in the process of developing more original artwork for the materials, but in the meantime, the tree is perfect. It would be used on just one page, and we will happily put an attribution link with it. “1 Thing for Green” is a new effort to encourage people to do just one thing each day to help the planet, in the hopes that the cumulative effect will have a big impact on the environment! Please email me and let me know whether we can use the tree. The website I’m submitting with this is our Facebook causes page. Thank you so much for your help!

If it is not for personal purposes, then you are free to use it. But if it is going to be used commercially, then you will have to put an attribution link back to KalaaLog.com. I will send you an email explaining further.

I’m sorry, but I don’t want to put my name on the web. I was just wondering, can I copy and paste this for a project? Also, no offense, but I don’t want to get into mailing and stuff. Thanks! Bye! (Plus this project is due on monday!)

Also, my e-mail may not work and I will probably have a bibliography page where I can include you. This IS a beautiful tree! Bye!

Sorry to keep e-mailing, but why do we have to put links and ask permission before we can use the clip-art? (No offense intended) Thanks! Bye!

    Reply

    1. Vyoma’s avatar

Well blorbgon, since I have copyrights over these artworks, when I intend to give something away, I do not want people to abuse it. An link or attribution is a deterrence freeloaders do not misuse these works.

If you do not want to link/provide attribution, then you can pay me a license fee. But that will involve settling on a licensing fee that is appropriate for your usage. (The term “project” is pretty vague).

I really can’t get into fees and stuff for clip art. But I promise not to abuse the privledge of these trees. My project is simply a plant booklet for school including vascular and nonvascular, parts of a flower, and monocots and dicots, you know that type of stuff. I just wanted your permission to copy and paste one of your trees to decorate a page on “20 facts About Plants”. May I?

  32. blorbgon’s avatar

Just to make sure we’re on th same page, please read the details below.

I would rather not have to pay you for this clip art, nor have to e-mail each other (again no offense) though I am perfectly fine communicating from your website (again, I am not sure any e-mails would go through, because my e-mail hasn’t been working lately).

I would like to use this clip art as a decoration for a page concerning “20 Facts About Plants”.

You will be noted (with a link for your website) on my bibliography page.

This is for personal purposes only.

Thank you for your time! Bye!

Hi Blorbgon, if you are not using it for personal purpose, then an attribution is required. For a project such as yours, putting one on bibliography page is sufficient.
