Phillips, thanks for your input. I definitely will put more tutorials on vectors.

I try to keep them as generic as possible in the tutorial itself, so that many people can use the general idea of creating a vector art on particular subject.

Speaking of which - any ideas that are in 'your head' :) that you would like to be covered here?

As far as using GIMP or Inkscape or other open source or free alternatives - it is perfectly justifiable to do so when you are doing art as a hobby. It certainly does not make sense to spend a fortune on something that you do not spend much time on, and are doing as a hobby/recreational activity.

If you would like to know anything specific about these software, please do drop me a note and I would be glad to share what I know.

Again, thanks for the feedback. :)

Personally I would like to see tutorials on vectors and specifically how to actually use the programs that are being used to create the drawings. I have ideas in my head but have a hard time getting the programs to do what I want. I am not a graphics designer or artist by any means. I just like to do things myself. I like your blog and find it informative. I use open source or free products (GIMP or Inkscape) because I find it difficult to justify the cost of the alternatives when I use them just for "fun".
keep up the good work.
