Earlier, using the thumbnails of the silhouette two characters, Slug and Slice were created. Here is the progress on the third one.

The silhouette is scaled up to 25% of A4 landscape at 300 dpi (the target size) and distorted a bit to get the perspective and rough composition.

I detailed the head a bit so that I get a better grasp at the character as I start putting in brush strokes that define the concept.

Drawing these closeups makes it easier to draw in the whole shaded artwork easily in terms of the perspective and shape.

As I start adding more details, I merge the earlier set of layers, and reduce their opacity by around 50%. This gives me various shades of gray and helps define the volume.
All the concept layer is merged into one. I will be using it while doing the actual painting, so that some amount of this work gets reflected.

It is cleaned up and positioned properly with in the canvas, and after that, I add another level of detail with a finer brush.
This is a short post, but stay tuned for more.
