Hey thanks for this ! most helpful. You may be interested to know I did the back wash on a canvas preparing it for what i thought was a ‘tree’ painting. Next morning when I went into Studio and walked towards the canvas there was a Phoenix in outline on the canvas. For me it defiently is a Chinese Phoenix and although it is almost finished as I just found your website, it is amazing to find I have given it all the appropriate features that you have and the features i just found described in Chinese Mythology!
